1. Acceptance

By using EssentialScore (essentialscore.com.au), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. What EssentialScore is

EssentialScore is a self-assessment tool that helps Australian businesses evaluate their cybersecurity posture against the ACSC Essential Eight framework. It is an educational tool — not a formal audit, certification, or security guarantee.

3. Not a substitute for professional advice

EssentialScore provides general information and custom policy templates. It does not constitute professional legal, security, or compliance advice. For formal compliance requirements, engage a qualified cybersecurity professional.

4. Your responsibilities

  • You must answer assessment questions honestly to receive meaningful results
  • You are responsible for reviewing and adapting any generated policies before implementation
  • You must not use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • You must not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the service

5. Payments and refunds

  • One-time Report purchases: 7-day refund if you haven't downloaded your report
  • Pro subscriptions: Cancel anytime. No refunds for partial months.
  • Payments processed securely by Stripe

6. Intellectual property

Generated policy documents are yours to use in your business. EssentialScore retains rights to the assessment framework, scoring methodology, and platform.

7. Limitation of liability

EssentialScore is provided "as is". We are not liable for any security incidents, breaches, or losses arising from your use of or reliance on this tool. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to any claim.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
